Aranix's Backstory
Not much is known about Aranix's early life. He was born and raised in the Black Shroud, not far from Gridania. He was always a good student, and faithfully attended school. Quickly, his knowledge surpassed what was expected for someone of his age, and by the time he was 16, he found himself studying amongst the Sharlayans. He quickly found his path in the study of healing magic, specifically developing a passionate interest in white magic.At the age of 23, he left the Sharlayans to explore the world and use his knowledge of white magic to help others. Joining forces with the Scions, he was able to help many people across Eorzea. During his travels though, he realized that no matter how good of a white mage he became, he could never truly help everyone in need. In pondering this, he remembered a mentor from Sharlayan that focused on botany and the healing effects plants could have on the body and soul. Aranix reached out to his old mentor, Ersalor, and the two began a correspondence that lasts to this day. Ersalor taught Aranix the ways of botany and harvesting important parts of nature while still respecting the land.As he approached 28 (his current age), Aranix developed a curiosity for the Allagans and their technology. As he researched further, he found that a lot of the advancements they made could be used to help him both with white magic and with botany. By incorporating their technology into his harvesting and preparations, he could make medicine faster than before, and medicine that was more potent than before. Those studies had to be put on hold as the situation in Bozja came to a head, and he knew he was needed on the front lines. Still, when there's a break from the fighting and healing, he continues to research and read from the allagan texts he's been able to bring with him on his magitek computer.

Personality: Overwhelmingly kind and empathetic, Aranix is shy but friendly. He's awkward but selfless, and once you get to know him, he will be a life long friend. He is incredibly generous with his money and time. Wears his heart on his sleeve and it's very obvious whether he cares about someone or not (typically the first). He is also a big fan of dad jokes and loves to laugh and see people smile. He's that one person you met, and within 2 hours you felt like best friends.
Skills: Healing and taking care of the injured. Working with technology. And of course cooking delicious meals!
Flaws: Cares what others think about him too deeply. Naive. Somewhat apprehensive around Roes. Also has an uncontrollable desire to pet miqo'tes and Hrothgars.
Current interests: Allagan lore. Farming and botany. The Bozjan resistance.

Quirks and Fun Facts:- He really loves spicy food, as long as the spice adds to the flavor. Not a fan of food that's just meant to burn his tastebuds.
- Owns a medium house in the lavender beds that he loves but is constantly sad because his decoration skills are a big zero.
- Played a big role in the Ishgard restoration, gathering herbs, logs, and many other things for the restoration (and placing in the 40s during the fourth phase of the restoration :)
- Is a big fan of dad jokes. He likes to think he's very punny.
- Can be a bit of a flirt despite having 0 romantic experience. He chocks this up to living with miqo'tes for part of his life.
- Used to be fairly involved with a tavern / "bathhouse". This was very strange as he'd only ever order green tea and food and just talk to people, and was oblivious to what else was going on.
- Really loves coffee biscuits. Like, obsessed with them. He has a sweet tooth and loves coffee, so it's the perfect combination.
- Very much an "in the moment" kind of person. Doesn't spend a ton of time reflecting on past decisions, or what people did in his absence.
- Simps for Au'ra girls.
- Really loves red heads. It's his dream to be a ginger power couple.
- LOVES challenges.
- HATES people who aren't honest. Even if the honesty hurts, he'd rather have that than someone who dances around the truth.
- Really likes to dance!
